We are proud to share that Uttarakhand Sports Foundation (USC Charitable Trust Regd.) successfully organized USF Half Marathon Pauri on 24th May 2026 at GBPIET, Ghurdauri, Pauri Garhwal.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 700+ runners, with a majority coming from the remote villages and towns of Uttarakhand. It was inspiring to see so many young athletes embracing fitness, discipline, and the spirit of competition.
To encourage local sporting talent, the marathon featured a prize pool of ₹2.4 lakh, reserved exclusively for native athletes of Uttarakhand. The event also produced some remarkable performances.
In the Men’s 21 KM category, Ankit Kumar from Pauri created a new benchmark by completing the race in an impressive 1 hour and 10 minutes.
One of the most inspiring moments of the event came in the Women’s 5 KM category, where 7-year-old Arya secured the first position, proving that age is no barrier when passion and determination come together.
However, the true success of the marathon goes beyond timings and podium finishes.
The primary objective of the event was to inspire young people from the hills to view sports not just as a hobby, but as a potential career path. We are pleased to share that the Uttarakhand Sports Foundation has already begun identifying promising talent from the marathon and has started sponsoring young athletes who have the potential to excel at the state and national levels and proudly represent India.
This is just the beginning. Our commitment is to create more opportunities for young athletes from Uttarakhand and help them achieve their sporting dreams.
A heartfelt thank you to all the Sadasyas of Uttarakhand Sports Foundation, our sponsors, and the dedicated volunteers of GBPIET, Ghurdauri. This event would not have been possible without your support and tireless efforts.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to Pauri Police, the district administration, and Uttara Care Hospital, Pauri for their valuable cooperation in ensuring the smooth and safe execution of the marathon.
Together, we are building a stronger sporting culture in Uttarakhand.
