Where are the Asian Para Games 2026 being held?

Aichi-Nagoya, Japan is the host. “Aichi-Nagoya” describes the wider host region: competitions are spread across several cities and sports facilities rather than taking place in a single stadium. Cycling venues are located in Shizuoka.

If attending in person, check the venue printed on the ticket and the specific session code. A sport’s morning and evening programmes may require separate admission; consult the organiser’s current ticket conditions before booking.

Asian Para Games 2026 schedule and match dates

The opening ceremony was scheduled for 18 October, while selected preliminary events started earlier. The calendar below is a guide to the competition period, not an athlete-by-athlete start list.

Asian Para Games timings in India: JST to IST

Japan Standard Time is 3 hours 30 minutes ahead of Indian Standard Time. Subtract 3 hours 30 minutes from a Japanese local start time: 9:00 AM JST is 5:30 AM IST; 6:00 PM JST is 2:30 PM IST. Check the timezone label before converting, because some results services can display a visitor’s local time.

How to find an Indian athlete’s next match

  1. Open the official schedule and choose the sport and competition date.
  2. Check the athlete’s event and classification, not just their name.
  3. Confirm the round: heats, qualification, semifinal or final.
  4. Recheck after qualification because later appearances depend on progression.

The organiser has issued schedule revisions, including changes linked to entries and swimming classifications. An earlier timetable or screenshot may therefore differ from the current session list. See the organiser’s schedule-change notice.

Asian Para Games 2026 sports list: all 18 sports

The programme includes the following 18 sports. Road and track are separate cycling disciplines, which explains why some coverage refers to 19 disciplines.

  • Para archery
  • Para athletics
  • Para badminton
  • Boccia
  • Para cycling (road and track)
  • Blind football
  • Goalball
  • Para judo
  • Para powerlifting
  • Shooting Para Sport
  • Sitting volleyball
  • Para swimming
  • Para table tennis
  • Para taekwondo
  • Wheelchair basketball
  • Para fencing (wheelchair fencing)
  • Wheelchair rugby
  • Wheelchair tennis

Programme: official sports programme. The organiser uses “Para Fencing” for wheelchair fencing.

Why event classifications matter

A sport can have several competitions for different eligible impairment classifications. The class code is part of the event name: two athletes in the same sport may compete for different medals. Always read the full category in a start list or result, particularly when comparing times, distances or records.

For spectators new to the programme, the official badminton guide explains wheelchair and standing classes. The swimming guide explains classification and permitted adaptations, while the fencing guide describes bouts with wheelchairs secured in frames.

India at Asian Para Games 2026: 168 athletes in 11 sports

The updated approved Indian squad comprises 168 athletes: 112 men and 56 women. The total delegation is 281, including officials and support personnel. Athlete numbers should not be confused with the size of the entire travelling contingent.

Where to watch Asian Para Games 2026 in India

Published viewing information lists DD Sports for television, with digital coverage on the Waves OTT app and Prasar Bharati Sports’ YouTube channel. Check the broadcaster’s daily programme for the particular sport or session you want to watch; coverage of every simultaneous event is not guaranteed.

Viewing reference: broadcast and streaming guide.

If a session is not being shown, the official results service remains the place to check start lists, progression and confirmed results. A livestream ending does not necessarily mean all competition has finished for the day.

Asian Para Games 2026 medal tally and India results

For country rankings and India’s gold, silver and bronze totals, visit our dedicated Asian Para Games 2026 medal tally. That page requests the latest available secondary-source standings each time it loads and provides a manual refresh button.

Medal standings are generally ordered by gold medals, then silver and bronze, rather than by total medals alone. A team with fewer medals overall can therefore appear above a team with a larger total. Results awaiting confirmation or corrections can also take time to appear in a secondary table.

Use the official medal standings to confirm the competition record. This overview does not hard-code a changing medal count.
