At Uttarakhand Sports Foundation, New Delhi, we believe that initiatives for the community are never the work of one individual. They succeed only when a team comes together with dedication and discipline.
To make an event successful we need a team that stands shoulder to shoulder and works with one purpose.
This spirit came alive during our 1st Pink Ball T20 Knockout Cricket Tournament, organized in March-April this year. What looked like a smooth sporting event to everyone watching was, in fact, the result of countless hours of dedication from our volunteers, our proud RedArmy.
For five consecutive weekends, the Red Army gathered at Bhawani Dutt Cricket Stadium, Sector 158, Greater Noida, by 6 am sharp. Some came from Faridabad, some from Gurgaon, Noida, and Ghaziabad.
They left their families behind for 5 straight weeks, dedicating themselves only to organizing this tournament. From preparing the ground to conduct five matches in a single day, they worked tirelessly without pause.
There were Saturdays when matches continued till 12–1 am. Yet the very same Red Army members were back again on the next Sunday morning at 6 am, ready to start another full day of cricket.
No excuses, only pure commitment.
Each member took on a responsibility. Some traveled to Meerut to arrange dresses, trophies, and equipment. Some stepped forward to handle live commentary. Some managed player verification. Others took charge of photography and anchoring.
Some became umpires, match referees, and scorers. Others ensured players received refreshments and lunch on time. Every role was essential, every effort counted.
This tournament was never just about cricket. It was about community, teamwork, and the dedication of people who gave their time and energy selflessly. The Red Army proved that when people unite for a cause, Extraordinary things can be achieved.
This event would not have been possible without them. Their sacrifice, discipline, and passion are the true backbone of Uttarakhand Sports Foundation.
