We were deeply honored to have Shri Lalit Mohan Negi, ACP, Delhi Police, grace the closing ceremony of the 1st Satyaprakash Ghildiyal Pink Ball T20 Knockout Cricket Tournament, organized by the Uttarakhand Sports Club (USC Charitable Trust Regd.). The event, which gathered cricket enthusiasts, young athletes, and sports aficionados from across the region, was a remarkable celebration of talent, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Shri Lalit Mohan Negi is a distinguished officer who has served with the Delhi Police for over 35 years. His tenure has been marked by exceptional service, specializing in counter-terrorism operations within the Special Cell. Throughout his illustrious career, he played a pivotal role in some of the most challenging and high-stakes operations, including participating in over 33 encounters, which led to the neutralization of 47 dangerous criminals. Among those he helped apprehend were 10 Pakistani terrorists, whose activities posed serious threats to national security.
One of his most notable contributions was his involvement in cracking the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, a watershed moment in India’s counter-terrorism efforts. His skill and determination were integral to dismantling the notorious Indian Mujahideen network, which had been responsible for numerous attacks across the country.
For his exemplary service to the nation and his tireless dedication to safeguarding the lives of citizens, Shri Lalit Mohan Negi was honored with the prestigious President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. The award was conferred upon him by the Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Nityanand Rai, on the occasion of Independence Day 2024, as a mark of recognition for his bravery and leadership.
